Bergstrasse
Die Bergstrasse in Stäfa ist ein historischer Verkehrsweg, der die Ötiker Haab am Zürichsee mit dem Zürcher Oberland verbindet. Im Lauf der Zeit wurde die Strasse an die sich stetig ändernden Bedürfnisse des Verkehrs angepasst. Die Morphologie der Bebauung und der Häuser sind ein Spiegel ihrer ursprünglichen Zweckbestimmung und ihrer Entstehungszeit sowie den sich wandelnden Anforderungen der Bewohner. Die Aufnahmen zeigen die Wechselwirkung zwischen historischer, physischer Permanenz und stetig einwirkenden Gegenkräften.
Die Bilder entstanden anfangs 2018 in Stäfa und sind Teil eines laufenden Projekts über die Transformationsprozesse an der Goldküste und im Grossraum Zürich.
The Bergstrasse in Stäfa is a historic traffic route that connects the harbour of Ötiken by Lake Zurich with the Zurich Oberland. Over time, the road was adapted to the constantly changing needs of traffic. The morphology of the settlement and houses is a reflection of their original purpose and their time of origin as well as of the changing requirements of the inhabitants. The photographs show the interaction between historical, physical permanence and the continuously impacting counter-forces.
The photographs were taken in Stäfa at the beginning of 2018 and are part of an ongoing project on the transformation processes on the Gold Coast and in the greater Zurich area.
Als Architekt bechäftigte sich Reto Gadola beim Umbau des Mehrfamilienhauses der Bank Linth mit einer Schlüsselstelle im Siedlungsgefüge von Stäfa.
As an architect, Reto Gadola transformed a seminal site in the structure of the settlement of Stäfa when remodeling the apartment building of the Bank Linth.
